Hello!
I am going through the process, finally, of legally changing my name and did not have the notice waived. I have the paperwork from the court but it's six pages long and have no idea what I'm supposed to actually post in the citation. The newspaper has been little help, which I understand as they don't want me coming back to them to complain if the court doesn't accept it. I have been unable to get anyone from the court to get back to me with a simplified version of exactly what the "script" is supposed to be.
It's been days of me just searching forums and google for even an example of a legal name change example but all sites just tell you that you're supposed to, not what you're supposed to say. I assume this is because it changes from state to state (I live in Massachusetts).
I'm completely overwhelmed and about ready to just say screw it despite how expensive filing fees were.
Any help anyone has would be so appreciated at this point. I'm doing this on my own and it's been a lot of walking into brick walls. I swear they make everything as complicated sounding as possible.
Andy, I did a little digging and I have a couple of things for you to check out. You may already know of them and have contacted them, but since I don't know, here they are:

Okay, I lied, not a couple of things, but three (LOL). I sure hope this helps..... Also, if you look in Social -> Member Directory, you can search for other people that may be near by. Try reaching out to them via Private Message here on TGH and see if they have had any issues. Michelle
Andy , have you contacted a lawyer , go to the yellow pages and ask the lawyer if this is something they do . They should be able to read through the crap of court and file for you , i guess . It would be my first move in this . Leslie
