When a group of cyclists set out on a long ride together, whether it's the grueling 545 mile AIDs ride or a more modest yet still challenging 100 miler, there are inevitably riders of different skills and experience. There will be seasoned veterans who routinely ride hundreds of miles a week alongside weekend warriors for whom this ride may be the longest they have ever done.
As the race wears on the less experienced riders can find themselves struggling to climb the next hill or to keep up with the pack. It's often at these times that one of the stronger riders will come alongside them and put his (or her) hand on the small of their back. They will keep it there until the less experienced rider can ride confidently on their own. If they were still struggling the stronger rider would signal someone else, and the three of them would ride together up the hill.
Today on behalf of Transgender Heaven I'm pleased to announce Trans Aid - Financial Aid for the Transgender Community. Every month a member in need from our community will be selected to receive a direct donation from Transgender Heaven, as well as a featured place on Transgender Heaven and Crossdresser Heaven to encourage donations from the wider community.
Transgender Heaven and Crossdresser Heaven have served the transgender community for more than 12 years. Together we have overcome hardships and endured trials on our journey that have made us stronger, more experienced. Just like those stronger riders we now ride along side you and place our hand our your back.
We can't ride your race, but we can give you support to go further than you think you can, and encouragement to have hope even through the darkest times.
If you are in need, please apply for Trans Aid. If you are able to help a brother or sister in their journey, please ride alongside them. We will announce our first selected applicant for August in a few weeks and share more details on how you can help support them.

Just when I thought I couldn't be more proud of the work put in by everyone here in support of the transgender community at TGH along come some wonderfully new and supportive ideas. From the recently launched livestream for voice feminization and now financial aid I am just humbled at how much we get to pay it forward with those who need it most.

Vanessa - I think this is a wonderful thing.
But beyond what the site is doing I would also ask all of you ladies / gents who are doing well financially (I include myself in that category) to check out the individual winners and if you think their causes / needs are worthy to give above and beyond. For instance, our first winner, Julie, has needs that are great, and although the TGH / CDH gift is very generous it is only about 2% of what she needs.
Obviously, only give if you are able, but if you are I think it is something tangible that we can do, and there is a special feeling that comes with knowing that you have helped a specific person to achieve his or her goals.
Just a thought.
