When someone subscribes to the Crossdresser Heaven (our sister site I started 17 years ago) newsletter for the first time they are sent a welcome message along with a link to this article I wrote 16 years ago: https://www.crossdresserheaven.com/be-encouraged-by-what-you-learn/

Today I was re-reading it, and I would encourage you to take a few moments to read it as well.

While my challenges these days are different, I am still gifted ample opportunity to turn trials into lessons, and to grow from them.

Usually this is begrudgingly, as if God has grabbed me by one hand to drag me over to where I need to be. All the while my heels leaving tracks in the dirt because I so desperately want to stay stuck where I was.

I hope your day is blessed, and moreso that you may find blessing even through the hardest of times.

@vanessa I often think about how infinity is always looked at as being exponentially growing, but it can be infinitely shrinking. As in standing 3 feet from a wall, and each day stepping 1/2 the distance to that wall. You will never reach that 'wall of perfection'. But we still strive each day to get closer, if even my 1mm.

Another issue that I seem to confound myself with is the 'forest & trees'. Sometimes, you need to step back, take stock of the entire forest, and then slowly figure out which tree to go after first. And before you know it, you've cleared the forest.

Or you get so focused on one single tree, that you loose perspective over all that the forest has to offer. But, life was never given to me to be easy. If it was, then it wouldn't be worth the high value we place on it. One our greatest blessings is the brain we have, and although mine can get a bit foggy at times, I try to keep it well fed with new information. Hugs, Michelle

@michellelarsen1 So true, and we focus so much on that one tree, it's flaws and foibles that we miss the butterflies and flowers.

Hi Vanessa, I am reminded of the words of the late (Prime minister) Sir Winston Churchill when he was criticised about a garden wall he built (it wasn't straight) he said, ' any fool can see what's wrong with it but can you see what is right!'
We do what we can today and to make a step toward our goal. That goal of course is never fixed is it, it expands as we move forward. We trans/cd are drawn to the other parallel train track. We can see the smooth and shiny rail glinting in the sunlight but to get to it is a challenge.

I look for my progress in the eyes of those I care about and who care about me.
We never 'get there' do we. It's not about the destination or the journey. It's about those we share it with. That includes ourselves too. Be kind to yourself.

@alexl What a wonderful quote, and one worth taking to heart as we look at ourselves for sure!

Always a pleasure to re-read your articles for a bit of a pick me and reminder we are not alone on this journey . Where ever our path leads us and obstacles stand in are way , we will pull through . It isn't about what we have accomplished throughout out lives but how many people we have touched along the way making the world a better place to live in

They were the first things I read. I always remember my welcome to CDH with great fondness. I had just subscribed to the newsletter and received a very encouraging and warm letter from you. I felt I had to sign up, and I found the courage to do so. English is not my first language. I just need to join. I then received the welcome letter and began reading the articles and forums. Soon I knew I did the right thing. The rest is history. I have learned a lot. I am still in both Heavens. I belong here. I always be grateful.
