I didn’t comment for a while as I didn’t want to influence anyone else. However, my thought is that, No, I don’t see myself represented in the Rainbow Flag.

When the flag was created by Baker and his friends (1978) trans people were not on the map. There is no evidence that I have seen that suggests that transgender people were included in the thought process. We were not added to the LGB to become LGBT until the late 80’s. Also, when you look at the original definitions for the colors, Sex is mentioned but there is no reference to Gender.

So, for these reasons I don’t see myself represented in the Rainbow Flag.

  • @flatlander48  Ive never thought much about flags. Other the putting out our US flag on the 4th of July and Memorial day.  But, nowadays there seems to be so much intimation with flags.  I actually see the LGBT flag as a friendly flag.   Almost to say "here there is acceptance." 😊
