I remember reading this awhile back, and thought, 'yep, that pretty much sums up a lot of things'. I kinda suspect you may take the same thing away that I did.....

From the What am I? Article by Winter Clark: "I am not a celebrity nor am I an actor, singer, painter, author, or journalist. I am not a social blogger or vlogger; I am not a prominent volunteer or a politician. It’s not likely that I’ll paint a picture that people line up to see, or write or perform a song that people will rush out to buy. I will never invent an item or discover a cure that will change the world. I am not a parent, nor am I someone that family comes to for support or advice.

I have never done anything those around me will remember after I am deceased. I blend into the shadows and stay out of the public eye; I am the person you walk by without notice in the crowd. Some say that I am a natural leader, but it is never by choice, it is always circumstance that thrusts me into the role. I am more comfortable with my pets then I am with most people, and I am content with that."

I  agree, with one exception. My sons, they adore me. I was a stay at home parent. My wife had the big job. I was lucky enough to be with them. They are the successful people. I'm merely the enabler.

They make fun of me but I encouraged that.  I was a leader and mentored many a young man who went on a successful career . But I personally never succeeded.

I'm comfortable with that

@michellehartigan Michelle, but doesn't success come in as many styles & flavors as people do? And what their situations allow? For some, success may be as simple, to others, as just making it through another day because of some illness. For others, success maybe in running a large company. For me, being a success is being able, at the end of each day, saying 'yes' to the question; "am I a better person for what I have done, and learned, today?". Hugs

  • Absolutely, yes isn't that what we all want? My problem is that we sometimes, I know I did is to want success without really understanding what success is. You seem to get it.

My success isn't the success I expected. I married despite being trans. I was escaping it. I tried hard.

But I got my dream job and after that I found myself staying at home with two small boys, basically a housewife.

The answer is yes. I am so lucky.
