Spread your wings! Spread your wings, and fly!!

Soar through a glorious sky, on brand new gossamer wings.

I have been told, by friends and co workers, that I have been reborn, They say that I am now a wonderful and beautiful butterfly, released from her chrysalis!

When I was gently given the news, by a wonderful lady doctor, that I am an intersex person, truly a woman, I recall my first reaction was to smile and take a very deep breath! I was now free, free at last, after a lifetime filled with the longing to be the person I always felt I was from childhood.

I was thrilled to be told this, and now, I am that butterfly, and I will soar on new wings!

I’ve always been thrilled when I catch sight of a butterfly fluttering by! They are a symbol of joy, hope, vitality, new beginnings, and rebirth.

I’ve always enjoyed looking at pictures of them, and my favorite ones are blue, which is also my favorite color.

Their colorful azure or turquoise wings represent an innocent and carefree spirit that many people love when they see them in the wild, because it’s one of the first butterflies to show in spring, the blue butterfly symbolizes new beginnings, while also representing positive life changes.

In Japan, people believe that seeing a blue butterfly in the spring predicts they’ll have a healthy and prosperous year.

Blue butterflies are emblematic of a free spirit that can’t be caged — they’re a symbol of freedom and the child-like wonder that accompanies it.

Lauren is like a wonderful blue butterfly, spreading her new wings and ready to soar into the new life that is before her, as the woman she always new she was!

Big hugs girls,

Ms. Lauren M

"Thou spark of life that wavest wings of gold,
Thou songless wanderer mid the songful birds,
With Nature's secrets in thy tints unrolled
Through gorgeous cipher, past the reach of words,
Yet dear to every child
In glad pursuit beguiled,
Living her unspoiled days mid flowers and flocks and herds!"
