I'm not really sure what to say in these intro posts... Umm... I guess I will start with my preferred name: Tempest Black. I'm 38, but have known since I was nine that I was supposed to be a girl/woman. About the only people I haven't come out to yet are my parents and sister, my parents have been voting Republican since Reagan and my sister jumped on the Q crazy train.

Tempest:

Unfortunately your situation is a bit between a rock and a hard place, but that isn't unusual here. Many have been in similar situations. Sad deal, but it is survivable.

I see that you are a ways from any metropolitan areas, but have you been able to connect with the trans community? Many are doing their support groups over ZOOM and other teleconferencing programs. That's good for those who don't want to be in crowds at this point, but it also is great for people who may be a distance away from the physical meeting places.

One of the reasons this site exists is to try to counter isolation in the trans community as we know it is a significant problem for many people. By seeing others like us it helps to reinforce the thoughts that we are not alone and that we are valuable humans.

If you like, you can search for others in your area by clicking on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.

I encourage you to complete your Profile page. It goes a long ways towards helping others understand you and your situation. It will always be readily available and can be updated at any time...
