I just joined this site. I am looking for a community to be part of in these strange and trying times. I really hope to meet people who deal with the same issues I have. I am really not sure where I fit in. I dont relate to always trying to fully accept the idea that I am have to be seen as female. So really I am just trying to figure out who I am and where I fit into this confusing world. From everything I keep reading about, I feel like that I may not be able to be myself and stuck pretending being the person I have in some ways created. Thanks for reading, hope we can become friends!

@lux7961

Welcome aboard Lana.  I can certainly identify with your identity vacillation.  I have gone through something similar on countless occasions since my early teens.  The journey has been confusing at times.  It took me many decades to finally decide to start aligning my body with my life long feminine spirit. I just started HRT 5 weeks ago and rejoined this wonderful community as well.

Feel free to reach out to me or any of the far more experienced women in this community.  We are here to support each other.

@mainesailor Thank you alot Jackie. I am really hoping to find community here. And maybe a friend that can understand how I think. I am sure I will bump heads with a few people. But in general, I try to be the friendless person you could ever meet.

@lux7961 I am sure you will make many new friends here in the TGH community.

The longer term members with many years of transgender experience are the best sources of reliable information.  I am still a newbie myself and I cherish their advice and emotional support.

@mainesailor That was what I was hoping for. But I see that this a site for new members coming into the transgender community. But that's okay. Their are a lot of resources out there, so I keep looking. I do believe someday I will find that older individual to help answer my questions. I will stick to creating topics that are more relevant to the site.

Hi Lana.

Welcome to TGH. A beautiful, friendly, understanding and supportive community.

Each one of us travels their own journey in their own way. There's no recipe for success. I've been in uncertain situations many times, and with the help and support I've received from both this website and its sister site, I feel like I've made progress. For personal reasons and decisions, I haven't formally transitioned, but I'm now at a point where I feel my life has found balance and I'm relatively happy being who I am.

I am here to support you.

@firefly Thank you Gisela. Its been really hard to find a community that I feel like they really care. I am hopeful that I can find that here. Do you have any pointers on kind of support I can get here as free member. I see the upgrade option but I am not really sure at this moment if that is right for me. Maybe in the future I will consider.

Hi, Lana. You can get a lot of support. As a free member you have access to the public chat, articles and forums. You can post topics and comments, as you have found out. Fill your profile so you can make friends. This information is important, so our members can approach you for your affinities. You can join two groups with your free membership. So you have plenty of access to our resources. It is good to upgrade, but you can upgrade in the future, when you really can. Don't worry about that.
