Hi everyone,
I have finally taken the decision to embrace my realisation of 20 years ago that I am not in the right body of birth and start to do something about it.
problem is I don’t know where to start and my family will be mortified. Looking to be able to chat with others that understand me not ridicule me.
See you around.
Georgie xx
Hey Georgie, welcome to TGH
I hope you’re having a nice relaxing weekend (at least as much as possible...)
I’m pretty new to all this as well, happy to chat anytime.
My first port of call (after finding the sister site CDH: at that time I had no idea I was trans) was to find a therapist specialising in gender issues (I found mine on the Pink Therapy website) and read as much info as I could find.
The best thing is finding that you’re not alone in what you’re going through; there’s many ways to be trans, but there’s many others you will find with similar experiences.
take care and stay safe

This is DeeAnn from the US!
Yes, I know. It’s the caffeine...
Anyway, glad you found your way here. There are a number of people here from the UK, so there is a lot of experience in navigating the health care and legal systems in your country. Seren mentioned a way to find a therapist to work with. That’s an important part as it will help you understand where things really sit for you and how to plot a path forward. Personally, I think one of the most useful things is the power of conscious thought and conscious decision making. Often when we don’t make conscious decisions, we get swept along to where ever the tide takes us, and that usually isn’t a good place.
Clearly these are difficult times, but remember that you have friends here.
Be Well!
