Or will be, before too long.   I am age 58 m2f to be, before long and just beginning the process of transition, or I should say beginning to tackle the roadblocks that stand in the way of transition.  My two biggest hurdles are my non accepting wife and mother.   I live in Oregon, so the resources are available and my health plan gets me covered, for anything but FFS.

I am far from new to the TG community.  I was first a member of another transgender site as far back as 1995.  I pretty much know everything there is to know about trans.  Despite that, I was also aware that only I can help myself.  All the knowledge that I obtain, all the clothes that I buy will not make me a woman.   I am getting help through support groups such as Codependents Anonymous and Emotions Anonymous.

Happy to have you! It’s not uncommon that folks have done a start-stop along the way. Some are responding to changing circumstances and others out of fear, but there are many reasons why our journeys are not linear.

It’s good that you have aligned yourself with community. Isolation is a big problem for us and it is fortunate to you have resources around you. And yes, others here have also had the problem of family members not being on board. Perhaps some here might share their experiences and provide some insight. However, from my observation, a lot of folks outside of the community have no idea as to what being transgender actually means. There are all sorts of misconceptions out there.

Please complete your Profile page. It will help other members get a sense of what’s happening with you journey and where you are headed. Unlike regular posts, you can edit it at any time when something changes.
