I'm currently a closeted trans girl looking for advice not sure what to do I'm 24.
Rose, welcome to our neck of the world. Feel free to join us in the chat room so we can learn more about you and you can learn about us. It is always helpful to put as much info in your bio as possible so we can better get to know you. If you look in Social -> Member Directory, you can search for other people that may be near by. Or under Places -> Local Places, you can search for all sorts of things that may be near you. Hope to see you chatting soon. Oh, and don't forget about digging through the Articles and Forums. Loads of information there. Hugs, Michelle

Rose:
You found us! Very Good!
While everyoneβs situation is different to some extent, there are MANY here have experienced something similar to what you describe. On your own, it can be a very difficult set of circumstances to sort out. The human mind doesnβt like dealing with change and that is quite a likely outcome of you situation.
Many people here have worked with therapists and have found the experience very helpful. However, you must find one that has experience and interest in gender issues. Lots of good therapists out there, but not everyone has this experience.
I will suggest a couple of things:
The Psychology Today magazine maintains a searchable database of therapists all over the world, including the UK.
Do a web search for LGBT or transgender resources in your area. Sometimes LGBT centers offer therapy services for free or have adjustable fee scales.
Please complete your Profile page as it really helps other members get to know you. You can update it any time if something changes. Over time all regular threads will sink to the bottom of the pile, while your Profile page will always be readily accessible.
