In terms of community, it is a powerful thing to be connected with ones peers. It can provide a sense of validation, camaraderie and belonging. It also helps to avoid feelings of being isolated.

By being a member here, you have access to a broad range of transgender and gender non-conforming people who are all over the globe. However, remember that physical presence is also very helpful. Have you made any attempts to get connected with the trans community in your area of New Jersey? Many LGBT organizations are doing online support and social gatherings which may be useful for addressing travel and scheduling issues.

You may search for other members in your area by clicking on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.

I also recommend that new members complete their Profile page. Members find it very helpful towards developing an understanding of how things sit for you and where you are headed. It will always be available and can be updated at any time if something changes.
