You have hit upon one of the reasons that we exist: a safe place where people can talk freely about triumphs, and also the things that they struggle with, in front of a supportive group with similar experiences. It is also important that people know that they are not alone. These days, with social media and text messages, our speed of communications has increased but without personal contact, we have increased the separation (aka, isolation) between people. Without a doubt, we are social creatures, but electronic communication is not the same. We communicate in other ways beyond just words and much of that is not conveyed by the electronics.
Is there a local trans group in your area? In addition to being here, that is a great way to get connected with people. You can also search our member directory for other members who live in Wisconsin. Click on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.
I also recommend that you complete your Profile page. Iβve had a number of conversations with people based on something they read on my page. Your page will always be readily accessible and can be updated at any time.
Regarding biographical stuff, look at the Profile pages of some of the other members. That should help put it into perspective. Click on anywhere where someoneβs name appears in blue. That takes you to their page and then click on the icon where is says Profile.
