Every thing is new. I'm still learning about myself in middle age. I realized my true self fairly recently. I currently identify as transfeminine. I probably should have known, but the words didn't exist to me. I have doubted and confirmed so many times. My wife is having a hard time accepting what I've discovered. I have no idea what the future holds. I'm going to be starting therapy hopefully very soon. I don't want to be fixed. I just want to understand. Anyway, thanks for having a place for me.

I am so glad that you are here, Jenna, and that you are discovering your true identity. It is never too late to realize who you are and how you choose to live your life. Life itself is certainly unpredictable, but that is the essence of it, and I wish you the best of luck in your future as well as with the therapy sessions! Do not fear of what others may think. You are holding the pen and the paper, and this is your story! You are the writer, and everyone else is just a reader. I am cheering you on every step of the way, and as a new user of this site myself, I can imagine the rest of us are doing so for you as well! Take care.

Jenna:

You've found the right place to be and we're happy to have you! I hope that you will enjoy being here.

Unfortunately there is no predictability as to whether or not you and your wife will remain together. I wish I could say that there is, but I haven't seen anything. I think everyone has to try to process everything, and sadly, not everyone can.

Many members here are either in your situation or have been through it. Know that it is survivable and others here will attest to that. Also know that, contrary to a lot of the BS that you may hear, we don't BECOME transgender; we ARE transgender. The proof of that is that conversion therapy doesn't work. People like to think that it does, but it doesn't. The real purpose of working with a therapist is to help understand what's going on, try to deal with it, understand it and figuring out what to do going forward. It is very hard for us to work through these things by ourselves.

I encourage you to complete your Profile page as it helps other members to understand your situation and what's happening for you. The page will always be readily available and may be updated at any time.

You may search for other members near you by clicking on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.

Jenna,
We don't need fixed, we are not broken. We are special.
I am so glad you are here and can add another voice to the collective spirit.
We are all on our own journey of discovery.
Peace and hugs,

Shiloh Rose

You are absolutely correct Shiloh. When I typed that, my anxiety regarding an upcoming appt to get a therapy referral was running rampant. When I reread it, I cringed. In no way did I mean to insinuate damage.

Thank you for your warm welcome. I am really happy and thankful to be here.

Hugs back.

Jenna
