Stephanie:

Glad to have you with us!

There is a broad spectrum of people here from those who are trying to understand what their gender identity really is to those who have transitioned years ago. It makes for very rich body of information.

Going back a ways, I was surprised by my reception in the women’s community and lesbians community here. It has been very pleasant, but clearly, I was not expecting it. There are likely to be some TERF’s here (trans exclusionary radical feminists), but if so, they have been pretty quiet.

But, what you said is true that those assigned female at birth (AFAB) seem to have less reaction to us compared to those assigned male at birth (AMAB). The only thing that I can guess is that men don’t like the fact that we have turned away from masculinity and have embraced a different thought process and perspective.

Are you connected with the trans community in your area? We are social beings and landing in the midst of our peers is almost always helpful. If nothing else, it works against feeling of isolation that many of us can have.

I did a quick search using the search string: transgender resources lemoyne pennsylvania. Various possible resources turned up in the Harrisburg, York and Lancaster areas. Even if a given organization doesn’t have a program or support/social events aimed at your demographic, they may have some helpful suggestions. Some organizations may also be doing some events online, so that can ease scheduling and transportation issues.

Thanks for completing your Profile page! I have to remind people to do that frequently. The thing is, it provides a lot of insight as to what is going on. Eventually all threads sink to the bottom of the pile and get archived. Your page will always be readily available and can be updated at any time if something changes for you.

I would also check the Member Directory as there may be other members near you. Click on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.

What you said about denial and having the feelings/urges come back even stronger can be echoed by many here. Quite frequently addictive behaviors can come into play as we try to hide from our reality. Anyway, glad that things are now pointed in a better direction for you.
