Non-Corpus Meum Non-Vita Mea
XY looks back with empty eyes, void reflection of unwanted corporeal being;
XY’s existence most foul, a shell unfit for beautiful soul so cruelly encased;
Unsightly profile marks it from a distance, denying internal being true recognition;
XY not XX…Why has nature given this and not that?;
Society to XY, “Play delt hand”;
Tears lead nowhere, dreams begin to die;
Life gives only pain and sorrow, XY buries it deep, yet finds nothing to fill spiritual hole;
XY asks, ”How shall I live?”, the Universe answers, “Ignore XY.”
And the void is filled
Kimberly, poetry is always that snapshot of the author's heart, mind, and soul at the time the poem is conceived. No matter the joy or anguish the poem may portend, it is still worthy of a thought provoking understanding. You seem to have a talent for doing that in such a wonderful and blessed way. Hugs, Michelle
