Hello. My name is Charlene. I am returning. I was an active member here previously; even publishing a number of articles. I purged electronically and to my regret deleted my account.

But as you all know there is no leaving who you really are at your deepest level.

Though I look very male and biologically and genetically I am, I can not from the depths of my soul embrace my maleness. I would like to. Such embrace would make life so much easier.

But I can't. I am a woman. And honestly, I like who I am. I am glad to be a woman, albeit trans. Trans is simply an adjective to define my unique place and personhoodΒ  in womanhood.

I guess I am coming back to be amongst others like myself. Ladies who have finally been able to go far enough in your journey to where you stop understanding yourself to be a"man who wants to be a woman" to understanding and accepting yourself as "a woman who simply wants to be."

Blessings,

Charlene

Charlene:

Glad that you have returned. You know, the only thing that we can do is realize our truth. We can dance around it and suppress it for only so long, but it will resurface again and again until we deal with it. Sounds like that is what has occurred to you. That doesn't make it any easier, but it does place us on the right path and in the right direction to move forward.

However, as always there are a multitude of factors that effect our thinking and decisions. For you, and many others here, there are significant familial considerations. There are no easy answers, but one thing that I will say is that is that calm, rational and deliberate thought is what is needed. The goal is to make the best decision that you can and that is all that we can do.

Many here have enlisted the services of a therapist. A therapist won't solve your problems for you but they will help you work through the things that you need to think about and help put things into perspective. Note that you want to find someone with experience in gender issues. While there are many good therapists out there, all do not have this particular expertise or interest.

I appreciate your completing the Profile page. It is helpful for other members as it establishes where things sit for you. Know that the page will always be readily available and you can update it at any time if something changes.
