The video guide will talk and walk you through the stages of setting up your 1st Article. It is a guide to introduce you and to access, where and how to begin. Anyone can do this, all you need to do is write your story.
What is an article?
On this site, articles tend to be of a very personal nature, describing something that has had a significant impact and or effect upon them that has brought about something different in their life. Good, bad, happy or sad, one or all of those can be within your own story. Imagine that you are writing a conversation with a close friend or family member. That is an example of one approach to writing, but there are may ways to tell your story.
A chance to inform, inspire, share what you are and have in your experience of life, you may be surprised how many can relate to your words. Make connections with others through your writing and allow them to share in you and your tale or account of something that has allowed you to transfer it into an article
There are cases where members post text for review that does not fit into the category of an article and is more appropriate for a forum topic or post. These are often quite short in length and are seeking some help, asking a question or just a very short text. These are not considered to be an article and are likely to be referred back to the member suggesting a more appropriate place to re-post.
If you are not clear on what an article needs to consist of, take a look a few of the many already published. Look at how members talk about themselves, an event or whatever is discussed in their article. You may find some inspiration for yourself.
Preferred Requirements
The target length of your article has a maximum length of 1499 words. The page where you add your text has a preset limit within the panel where your text is placed. This is not a requirement, it is simply a limit that we like you to work towards.
Tips
It is recommended that you write your article off the website until you have written it and happy with the content and length.
Try not to write very long sentences, and use punctuation where needed.
The video informs you of the things you need to do and those that are not critical, but are visible on the creation page, that will allow formatting styles and layout by the editors.
If you have a specific photo that you would like to be used with your article, you can upload it to be used as the featured image. This is not an obligation and will be added by the editor if left blank.
Please watch the video before starting your article perhaps look at some that are already published to get a feel of what has been written and published already.
We all have a story within each of us, sharing it can be powerful for the author and those who read it.
