That is the title of an interesting news article Joanna sent me... "You’ll often hear lawmakers, activists and pundits argue that many transgender people regret their decision to have gender-affirming surgeries – a belief that’s been fueling a wave of legislation that restricts access to gender-affirming health care. Evidence suggests that less than 1% of transgender people who undergo gender-affirming surgery report regret. That proportion is even more striking when compared to the fact that 14.4% of the broader population reports regret after similar surgeries."

@michellelarsen1

A total of 55 articles examining regret after plastic surgery were included. The percentage of patients reporting regret ranged from 0-47.1% in breast reconstruction, 5.1-9.1% in breast augmentation, and 10.82-33.3% in body contouring. In other surgical subspecialties, 30% of patients experience regret following prostatectomy and up to 19.5% following bariatric surgery. Rate of regret after GAS is approximately 1%. Other life decisions, such as having children and getting a tattoo have regret rates of 7% and 16.2%, respectively.

@michellelarsen1 such things get skewed by political ambitions among other things sadly. If asked to produce evidence they stumble and deflect. Sadly they know most only read the headlines and don’t fact check or compare to others that have similar events . Frankly, it justpisses me off.

From various studies that I have seen regarding knee replacements, dissatisfaction rate are between 10% to 20%.
