It seems he was just a tad misguided and misinformed. If he had just taken a moment to step back, and look at a bigger picture, and thought about the 'learning from the past so we don't repeat it' and John Connor's "we're not going to make it" quotes, maybe he would have looked at things differently. It seems that every generation worries about the future, while yearning to hold onto some past. While that past may not be as rosy as they want to keep believing in, it has that degree of familiarity.
And it seems we are facing that seemingly uncertain future we are so worried about. Yes, there will be bumps in the road, and we will teeter on the edge of the precipice from time to time, but humans are resilient and have a knack for climbing out of the hole we just dig ourselves into. But I have faith, that we will get through to the other side no worse for wear, and think back that it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Maybe, along the way, we gained some self-confidence in our ability as human beings.
I know we so want to vent, and express our frustrations as we feel the road may be the wrong one. But we also need to know that we need to consider that we do it in a thoughtful and respectful manner, and venue. Shouting from the rooftops probably isn't going to garner the outcome you had hoped for. Probably that thoughtful and respectful discussion is best done in a venue more akin to that type of discussion. That is something worth considering; doncha think? Hugs, Michelle
We are, as a group of marginal people, conveniently being targeted because we're considered "too different", also very resilient! We've made it this far, and we're not going to allow any group the pleasure of seeing what they think is our demise.
We are confident, we know who we are, and they can't take that away from us!
