A letter was published today on The Guardian site from a group of people calling themselves The Clinical Advisory Network on Sex and Gender. The letter is filled with standard anti-trans untruths about the supposed need to prevent any form of transitioning by young people in schools and to make sure every parent is immediately informed (no matter the consequences, presumably). Can anyone provide information on this transphobic organisation? Its website is transparently disingenuous, providing a veneer of medical respectability while - as its letter shows - it has no aim other than to persecute trans people and ensure we disappear.
Looks like a phoney organization spreading false information to advance a political agenda. but idk.
Because stupid and discriminatory people often hide behind screens like The Clinical Advisory Network on Sex and Gender to mount disinformation campaigns.
I get the idea that your website is riddled with hypocrisy and falsehood. After reading what little I could endure, I left it convinced that they would torture me if they could.
To hell with them and their intolerance!.
Hi Rebecca, It is so disappointing that such hatred and bigotry is appearing in the UK. I'm almost ashamed to say I live in the UK. Far from helping their deluded cause, it brings them out into the open...which is a good thing. Much easier to isolate and shun such people once they have a face.Β
It certainly isn't the popular view in public opinion. In my 3 years of being out, no-one has challenged or taken offence at me. I'm not saying bigotry isn't out there, rapists, sexists, racists,Β paedophiles etc have their twisted little communities too. These people are just a tiny minority with mental issues of their own. So far they haven't brought religion with its binary rhetoric into the equation...but I expect they will.
This week, our Prime Minister, Rishi SunakΒ has just been caught making anti trans jokes. His days are now numbered. What an easy target for intolerance is he now?
The Guardian, of all newspapers are not the place for them to gain support. As a liberal tabloid with usually strong LGBTQ+ sympathies, their readership is more likely to now be aware of such cranks. The article has uncovered these people...which I expect is the reasoning behind the Guardian editorial.Β
