I had previously noticed that a number of members had in the past, submitted a fairly short text to be considered as an article. These generally were spotted and the author contacted to suggest the text would be better placed in a forum or group, whichever was most relevant. I cannot say with confidence that these have been reposted with any of them, but they most likely were not developed and expanded upon and consequently never made it to publication.
Quite recently I came across a short article that when I took time to read it, I found quite moving and powerful. So much, that I felt that I could not let it go to waste simply from lacking in its length. In the usual way, I contacted the author to ask if it was possible to expand what had been posted by adding a little more background detail or more information, to create a better chance of a reader being able to visualize the story and make a better connection with it.
As a result, the author worked with me in making changes and evolving the text into a new and improved version. However, the thing that sets this apart from all other articles, apart from its length, is the way in which is presented as a new approach to an article and specifically of this nature. It will be published with an additional text created by a group of editors, to highlight and illustrate what the author has experienced, learned, and discovered that is mentioned within the article.
By adding the contribution from editors, we aim to explain, in a positive and supporting always, what the author has experienced, learned, and discovered as described in their story. Affirming what they have written about and lived. We feel this combination will give permission to others to repeat similar things in their own lives and journies, learn and understand ways to change and deal with life and the situations that challenge us, illustrating how we all have these strengths and abilities.
Generally, all we need to do is believe we can do it; and so I ask you to –
Have a little faith in yourself.
I invite all those of you who have thought about writing an article but have felt that you lacked the confidence perhaps, or for whatever reason that has stopped you, to reconsider that now! If you have a story to tell that has been bottle-up inside you, take a moment to reflect on that. Would, knowing that you could be helped in the way I have described, change your mind? Is your story powerful, moving, full of emotion, joy, or amazement? Why not spend a moment to ponder on the possibilities that could await you.
If I have sparked off something that has lingered in your mind, perhaps send me a private message, and let’s discuss some ways of making it happen for you.
I am sticking my neck out here and maybe inviting a flood of messages, or not!
But, I believe you are all worth the risk in my opinion.

Hi Sophie,
Being of a particular age I often find myself at a loss as to how to navigate today’s technology. I’m embarrassed to say that there is much I would like to say but usually give up after not being able to post it properly. Exactly where should I post things? Is there a way to link and post something I’ve written in Word?
Hi Tonya, That is a great point that you’ve brought to my attention. I will create an illustrated article/post to show in detail how to start and create an article, as soon as I am able.I will see if it’s possible to post the details into the Writing Group A quick pointer: Beside your name in the top menu, to the left of your name and the next wording, should be – New Article. If you click on that it will open up a page, with panels where you can Type into or Copy & Paste the main text of… Read more »
Thanks so much. I unfortunately was not born with the internet savvy chip built into my brain like most of the younger generation. I struggle with every key stroke and inevitably send partial posts usually to the wrong places. As I quickly had to learn when in France…Je suis and stupid American
