The reality is that we are all working with our own belief systems. What really chaps my ass may not even register with you and vice-versa. For me, the part about personal contact was important because, if someone had a problem with me, I wanted them to address me directly. However, given a potentially strong reaction from someone, the thought could be to minimize the possibility of confrontation.

There is no one right way to go forward. I also don’t think there can be a blanket approach. All the people that you want to interact with are unique personalities, + and -. They deserve to be treated as well as you can…
