I agree I would much rather be cis instead of transgender,  but I often wonder about it from a cultural level.  Many of the Native American tribes referred to transgender people as two spirit people, and they had a special honor among their people.  How different would it be for all of us if our society accepted us and did everything possible to help avoid the pain and awkwardness and uncertainty and there was no downside?
