Perhaps a bit more definition might have been helpful. Basically I was thinking about non-profit organizations where one volunteers. In other words, it is separate from ones occupation. These could be service organizations, political organizations and advocacy groups. Typically these would be outside of usual work hours and activities.
In your case, likely the only thing is whether or not doing your radio program is a job.
To me, visibility is a key part of transgender politics and advocacy. So, what I was trying to get at was if people are supporting the community. I understand that it is a not uncommon opinion that people “just want to live their lives” and a valid one. However, that tends not to have much influence on moving the community forward.
