Lia, my first instinct would be to ask your mom what she thinks. But since I’m not sure what their marital status is… Do you know of others in your circle of friends, that also know your father, that you could talk with? How have you dealt with discussing other big life issues with him in the past? And my obvious suggestion is to make sure you scout the Articles and Forums here. And another consideration is your father’s age, lifestyle, and his circle of friends. All of these factors will play a large part in how you approach, and form the discussion. But I would imagine he will be a bit worried, fearful, disappointed, etc. So I would watch for signs of that, and be sure you can get him to understand that it is harder for you than it is for him, the pain, turmoil, etc. that you have to deal with. It may be a challenge, but I don’t know what in life isn’t. For some people, the simple act of getting a glass of water can be a real challenge. I hope this help, Michelle
