A few words about me

Hello everyone, it is a great pleasure to share with you this wonderful experience. I am a transgender woman who must have lived in the closet for many years and now, at 50, my very nature demands that I come out and express myself as the woman I have always been. I was diagnosed with gender dysphoria about 15 years ago, I even tried to live my life as a woman, but I had to give up in an attempt to save my family stability and my own employment in the armed forces of my country. It was very hard and very cruel to have to give up my own nature; Being a woman was not a choice for me, it was my essence. Now I want to express myself from my femininity totally.

Hi Kim. Welcome. So glad you found your way here. I came out to myself at the end of Sept. Then my wife a few days then family and friends and finally parents at the beginning of January. It went well which was the last thing I expected.
Anyway, I am sorry this journey for you has taken the path it did. If ever it would help you to elaborate here then I think I can safely say that I speak for myself and the others that we will happily and compassionately listen. BUT, no pressure. Do what you need when you need.
Our stories are quite different from each other in some ways and not so much in others. The main thing is we are all in this together. I have received so much support from this group during hard times. I love them all! Peace,

Hi Kim,
Welcome to TGH. You will find that each of our stores is varied on our journey to this point in life. And that in many ways they are the same. We are all on a journey of discovery.I am so thankful that you are here, and so sorry for what you have gone through. I held back my needs due to military and family. I’m now turning 56, I came out about 9 months back. It was the most freeing thing I have ever felt. Please feel free to talk, rant etc.

I somehow feel happy with the reception I have received in this wonderful space. I have visited many places, but only in this one, I feel that I receive support from girls like me, I always thought that I had been a coward for not courageously assuming my nature, for succumb in to social pressures, I thought I was too old to definitively assume my nature; but now I feel that age is just a number in front of true identity. Thank you so much

Hi Kim, I can definitely relate! I just started HRT at almost 66-1/2 years young. It’s NEVER too late to find your happy place. I wouldn’t trade my life with my wife and daughter for anything, but I do wish it had been feasible for me to transition about 25 years ago.

I have felt dysphoria, anxiety, and depression my entire adult life, but just learned what the cause was. I know noiw to have a peaceful last portion of my life, it will be living as a woman.
