Hi there,
Any advice from those you haven’t legally transitioned, but have gotten an official state ID and/or driver’s license that reflects their female persona?
I’d like to have an ID I can show to get into clubs, etc. that doesn’t have a dude pic. In Illinois, you can get a State ID instead of a driver’s license. But if I show up in full femme mode at the DMV, what happens? I obviously can’t put “female” down for sex because I haven’t changed it. I feel like they wouldn’t let. it happen because it would seem like wearing a costume or disguise to them…
Any thoughts are appreciated!

Check into it, you may be surprised, In PA they now let you change your gender by just filling out a form while at the MVA. I changed to Non Binary when I renewed my DL in 2020. It took an extra minute to fill out the form and no one so much as blinked at me funny.
