Hello,I am Cassie and live a great life as a pre operative transsexual.I didn’t grow up unhappy as male at all in my childhood,dressed as female a few times in my teens.I knew this inner woman wanted out more.With my mom only left in my life,came out to my mom in April of 1997 of my senior year of high school that I wanted to become female.This was after my mom and I lost my dad to suicide and my two older brothers to drug overdoses.She knew I wanted to go in the right direction in life.Plus she was proud of me coming out.Plus admited she always wanted a daughter opening up to me.Supported me through my transition 100%.Started my transition in 1997 too put on the male hormone blockers and estrogen until 2000.I am 100% completely happy now in my life.Mom and I are much closer too knowing I have a better life and she has a daughter now.

Sorry that you have experienced such difficulty in your life. But, as always, hard times and adverse situations have the power to teach us about as much as success. Tough times often make us more resilient as we begin to learn how tenacious we are and the depths of our inner resolve. It definitely sounds like you are on the path that you need to be on.

Welcome to this site and thank you for sharing your story. You and your mother had some rough times. It is wonderful that your mother supported your transition and you are close now.

It was,both of my older brothers were drug addicts.Dad felt he lived a bad life and tried to get help for him.
Mom didn’t want to see me end up like them.Good thing is she is glad I am in her life still aliveIt came out with a happy ending,mom says she has a daughter.I was lucky too,my good friends in my life are still in my life and supported me through it.Divorced,ex wanted me to have the gender corrective surgery and could not take him forcing me to do this.He didn’t listen,it is my body and not his.
Cassie such a happy ending out of so much tragedy. I would love to hear more about you journey and experiences. I am a 64 year old transgender woman whom has just stepped out of the proverbial closet. My wife found pictures and outed me to my daughter and friends. In actuality it was a weight lifted. Now I don’t have to hide my other persona although no one has been that welcoming. Wife and daughters want me to be happy and be my true self but they are having a hard time seeing beyond “dad”.
anyway, you were very lucky to begin your transition at such a young age. If I were in my 20s I think I would transition Is so want to be a woman. Congratulationss sweetie
