Hi, I’m Cody. I am 31 and just starting to identify as a trans woman.  I’m at the beginning of my journey and fearful of transition but hopeful at the same time. I need to be myself, so that’s what I plan to do.

I don’t have any support in person right now. And taking this on alone is daunting. I’ve been filled with self doubt the last three or so years, going back and forth on whether I should transition. It’s just difficult without someone in your corner. But I know I need to move forward.

I would love to talk about how to make progress. I can’t do this alone…

Hi Cody, We are at the same point. I too have no one in person to talk too am filled with anxiety. I have only begun to make minor physical changes. I will be having a doctors appointment in the next few weeks and it frightens the heck out of me.

As we are all different and respond in different ways, what frightens you about seeing a doctor? Also, what kind of doctor are you going to see? An endocrinologist, psychiatrist, etc.?

      Cody:

We are happy to have you with us. Many here have been where you are now in your journey. They are not easy waters to navigate, but it is entirely possible to do so. Many members have found that working with a therapist experienced in gender issues to be very helpful. The idea is to help you understand your own truths.

As you are in San Diego, have you contacted The Center https://thecentersd.org ? Within that organization is a program called Project TRANS. There may be some resources available to assist you.

Please complete your Profile page. It really helps other members to become acquainted with you, where you are in your journey and how they can help. The page can also be updated at any time if something changes for you.

You can also search for other members in your area by clicking on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.

Welcome to Heaven, Cody! 🙂 I know how you feel, though I went through my transition in my 40’s. However, I felt the need to change my gender seriously around 30. Anyway, enough about me. If you could use a friend, I’d be glad to give you whatever help that I can. You are among friends who understand your struggle. /gives you a welcoming warm hug. 🙂

      Hello Cody ,

      Welcome to the site ,

I think you found the right place to share your journey as you start with your transition . I start my transition in my late 20’s , in my very early 30’s I was off for my surgery . Finding people for support is a challenge that are in your area , you don’t have to go through your journey alone , here you are amoung friends and people who are here just for the purpose .
