Yes, that is today, October 11th. And as an odd coincidence, today is the fourth anniversary of my first surgery, and this Friday will be the second anniversary of my, well, second surgery. I did read something interesting about whether or not it is a coming out, or an inviting others into our lives. You never need permission to be the you, that you are. But other’s need permission to know the you, that you are…. So, happy NCOD!
From what I’ve seen, and for me personally, there isn’t a conscious “inviting others into our lives” part. I think by making a public admission, in general or 1/1, it implies that there is an invitation. The idea to me is that once you make the admission, it s out of your hands. People will respond as they see fit. We have no control over that.
