The friend ceiling.

Just found this site after deleting any and all dating apps and googling for help.

I’m a trans-woman.  10 years post-op.  I finished raising my children after my divorce from a extremely non-accepting spouse and decided its time to find someone to continue sharing my life with.

I’m a rather average woman and based on the number of friendships, I can’t be too hard to get along with.  My dilemma is for the life of me, I can not break the friendship ceiling and I’m hoping there is someone here that can explain what I’m doing wrong.

    Broken Hearted,

    Kathy

      Kathy:

I think you are referring to that point where a friendship turns into a romantic situation. From my observation and what I’ve been told by others, dating for trans women is difficult for many reasons. I have no advice save for this. It is NOT you. It has to do with people’s screwed up attitude towards trans women. There’s some really BS thinking there somewhere that shouldn’t be…

      Hi Kathy,

I’m not quite sure what you mean by “friendship ceiling”, but you’ll find plenty of friends, here at TGH– including me.
