Out and outgoing professional transexual woman in education. While I always feel like a unicorn in the room, even among other LGBTQ educators, as there are so few trans women in secondary education, it is important for me to be visible for my students and their families who may be navigating, living with, or seeking to understand gender identity and expression. I teach high school science (physics and biology) and would enjoy meeting or corresponding with other queer educators, especially other transgender female educators.
