We called those ladies of a certain age - who came to the dances dressed, coiffed, and bejeweled - the Old Dolls. I envied them their glamour; now I try to emulate their style. Growing up in the '50s in Mississippi meant suppressing my girl feelings, then career postponed their expression even more. Now in retirement I can enjoy being who I am.
