From the time we opened our doors in April of 1960, West Jefferson Medical Center has delivered one-of-a-kind care to the Westbank community of Jefferson Parish. Today, we’re a 419-bed, not-for-profit hospital offering specialized, comprehensive care in more than 50 specialties and sub-specialties in medicine. Our departments for spinal surgery, neuroscience, and neurosurgery are ranked in the top 5 in Louisiana, according to Healthgrades. We have a prestigious cancer program accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, as well as an Advanced Certification for Comprehensive Stoke Centers by The Joint Commission. Heather Griffith, Owner and Manager of Psychological and Academic Consulting and Evaluation LLC, is a Board-Licensed School Psychologist. She received her Master of Education and Educational Specialist degrees at The College of William & Mary in Virginia and received a principal license from the University of Colorado. She has worked with children in grades K-12 primarily as a school psychologist but also as an administrator, social worker, and guidance counselor. She has training and expertise in child development and behavior, interventions, and Special Education. I believe that no one is immune to life’s challenges and variabilities. Hopelessness, anxiety, fear, and other negative emotions can become overwhelming, affecting our overall wellness, leaving us exhausted. I help my clients overcome these difficult emotions by providing a non-judgmental, affirming and safe environment that respects boundaries and offers the space they require for their healing process. Pritwinder is currently completing the practicum component of her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
