My practice includes more traditional psychotherapy for clinical concerns including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, LGBTQ-related issues, eating disorders, gender dysphoria and gender confirming transitioning, relationship problems, trauma, and grief. I also offer mindfulness training and meditation mentoring, either separately or integrated into psychotherapy. Psychotherapy services are offered in my office or via telehealth. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I provide individual holistic psychotherapy and mind-body skills training (guided imagery, meditation, relaxation, mindfulness, etc). In addition to providing counseling using a wellness approach (rather than the medical model), I also use mind-body skills training to help clients move towards personal growth and stress reduction and to better cope with transition and developmental processes. Jennifer has a Ph.D. in psychology and is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. Jennifer completed both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Northwest Indiana at Purdue University, Northcentral and Calumet. She holds a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies and Social Sciences. Jennifer attended John F. Kennedy University and completed a year of full-time study regarding marriage and family counseling practice and theory. Jess is a social worker with a second graduate degree in Gender and Cultural Studies from Simmons College. While at Simmons, Jess focused their work on a thesis that argued for the expansion of transgender health coverage and the movement toward therapists as partners, rather than gatekeepers, in the transition process. Jess interned/worked at Fenway Health, a community health center geared towards LGBTQI-identified individuals. Here, Jess carried a caseload of children, adolescents, and adults who were, in some cases, navigating medical transitions. Jess also ran a support group for parents of trans youth and established an independent consulting business to Open Listing
