We are a transgender and gender diverse social / support group. We hold regular meetings on the first Friday of each month and arrange a number of social outings/events. We welcome new comers and enquiries. The Carrousel Club began in about 1985, and is the main South Australian social and support group specifically for the members of the transgendered community, their friends and families. The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) plans, funds, and delivers services that help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain safe and independent in their homes. With the assistance of area providers, COAAA arranges and coordinates services to help individuals with daily living such as homemaking, transportation, home delivered meals, and personal care. COAAA offers education and resources to caregivers, professionals, and the public and advocates for programs and policies that benefit older adults and individuals with disabilities. The Centre LGBTQA Support Network (CLSN) was founded in August 2014 when a group of community members got together to discuss reviving PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). The group decided that we wanted to create a grassroots organization centered around enhancing the lives of LGBTQA+ members and their friends and families. The CLSN started with open-mic nights at Webster’s and a community/business fair. From there much of the CLSN’s growth has come as a response to community members’ requests and needs. THE CLARE PROJECT is a self supporting group based in Brighton and Hove open to anyone wishing to explore issues around gender identity. Our main activity is our weekly DROP-IN every Tuesday, which aims to provide a safe and confidential place for people to meet with others who share their life experiences, and find information, support and companionship. A facilitator and a psychotherapist are at the drop-in each Tuesday. Whilst the group is mainly attended by transgender, transsexual and gender dysphoric people, we aim to be all-inclusive as we recognise the complexities surrounding the issue of gender identity.
