Queermunity Collaborative

Queermunity, established in 2022 by Hilary Otey and Kayla Barth, is a project coming to life. With the help of Finnovation Lab in 2023, Hilary and Kayla developed a business plan. Now, we’re teaming up with local groups and community members to bring Queermunity to life. Currently, we’re working on finding the perfect location!

We’re a Queer-owned small business. We prefer this model because it gives us the flexibility to operate outside of nonprofit limitations while also meeting the community’s needs. Our cafe proceeds and memberships will reduce the cost of providing free events and space to the community.

Our diverse advisory committee ensures our space and activities meet many needs. A fantastic team of creatives, organizers, activists, and care workers is turning the Queermunity dream into reality with passion and dedication.
