Village Hearth

We are LGBTs, friends, and allies sharing a caring community on 15 beautiful acres in Durham, NC. We have the privacy of our own right-sized, sustainable homes and the company of a close-knit and mutually supportive group of neighbors.

​Cohousing is collaborative. Our community reflects our values and priorities. It is self-designed, self-developed, and self-managed.

Our neighborhood is made up of 28 single-story fully equipped cottages, with inviting front porches and individual back yards. The homes cluster around the common house, leaving almost ten acres for natural open spaces, gardens, and outdoor activities.
