I will be on Medicare starting August and I been transitioning for 18 months so far on HRT. I want to know will Medicare will cover Β facial feminization surgery? I just want to get my hairline reduced and eyebrow bone shave.

Serenity,
I wish there was a clean answer to this. NCTE has a good page that talks about this subject here…
https://transequality.org/know-your-rights/medicareThe key thing is that any surgery would have to be deemed “medically necessary” which will require a doctors diagnosis. Medicare defines medically necessary as “Health care services or supplies needed to diagnose or treat an illness, injury, condition, disease, or its symptoms and that meet accepted standards of medicine.”
https://www.medicare.gov/glossary/mSome states use local contractors to administer their plans that may have guidelines. I don’t see anything specific to New York but NCTE isn’t the definitive answer. They recommend you check with CMS which is the government site for Medicare and Medicaid. New York seemed to have a couple of coverage areas, at least in their search tools.
Wish I could give you a definitive answer.
Hugs, Cloe
