Hello!
Welcome to the site.
Without a doubt I commend what you are doing. Many people are miserable for decades before finally deciding to dig deeper into where things actually sit for them. A little support goes a long way, as you have noticed, and the benefit in invaluable. You’ve done an extraordinarily good thing.
Thanks!

Hello Stacey
I wish we all had a friend as supporting as yourself before we started our transition. The first thing that you should suggest to your friend is that they need to get a gender therapist that will help her with her gender issues. Gender dysphoria is a real issue and trans people need as much support as possible. Depending on where a person is located, the Endocrinologist who will provide the hormones for HRT (hormone replacement therapy) will require a letter from the gender therapist indicating that she is trans and will benefit from HRT. That should be good enough to get started.
Most of the therapist are doing sessions online and so the therapist does not need to be local.
