We all start somewhere and it is good to have you with us!
As always, consider your journey to be a Marathon. We are undoing previous behaviors and ways of looking at the world. This a not a simple and quick path. While we can note our progress as our skills in putting together outfits improves or learning to correctly apply makeup, how we progress mentally is a bit less noticeable. We actually have to stop for a moment and consider where we were compared to how we are now. A bit of conscious thought is a great help as events progress.
Many here have found that working with a therapist is beneficial. It can help provide insight as to what is happening for you and help you figure out what needs to happen going forward. There is no One Size Fits All because, as a group, we are all quite unique in many different aspects. But, one point is important: it needs to be a therapist who is experienced with gender issues. Not everyone is.
So, a couple of housekeeping items…
If you like, you can search for other members in your area. To begin, click on Social in the menu and then Member Directory.
I encourage you to complete your Profile page. It really helps other members to begin to know you. Eventually all threads sink to the bottom of the pile as new threads are continually added. However, your Profile page will always be readily accessible and can be updated at any time if something changes for you.
